Community Outreach
Wayne State University Clinical Research Service Center (CRSC) Community Engagement and Health Research program focus' on the creation of partnerships with the community through the exchange of information and expertise to enhance health promotion, outcomes and health research. Services provides as part of this program are:
- Establish community advisory boards and database registries
- Focus Groups
- Community Needs Assessments
- Create partnerships between academic institutions and community organizations
- Support for the development of community based participatory research (CBPR)
- Facilitate collaboration between investigators, research projects, community organizations, and established partnerships
- Develop and implement interventions and research strategies that addresses social determinants of health
- Promote health equity and reduce disparities in health
- Engage and advocate for improvements in public health policy at the local, state and federal level
- Inform the general public on the importance of research and its benefits
